In the last 2 months, I had to coordinate so many things and the ‘over-responsible’ baggage in me caused me to move like the Shinkansen [Japanese bullet train] …literally like a bullet and so no room for inefficiency.
I noticed an occupational hazard resulting from such drive for efficiency. My body clock has malfunctioned, or should I say needs to be rewound.
Waiting one hour to pick up my new passport, felt like forever…
And at the Indian visa application agency..the lady at the counter processed the application 3x b’cos she stopped to talk to her colleagues, at will, and each time to start all over again…asked me same questions, and read documents all over again…my internal mechanisms for efficiency wanted to scream. I had about 10 minutes before my appointment with my friend was due. The process would not need more than 5 minutes but she managed to talk more than 10 minutes.
I had gone early in the morning before the crowd to avoid long queues and so my body clock wanted efficiency, when I did not get it, my entire body system was set for ‘confrontation’. Thankfully, i chose to over-ride the dinosaur brain … I chose to be a rational being :)
