Watching a husband coach his wife in driving got me thinking about the importance of emotion in learning. She had already received her drivers license but needed some confidence booster.
Where the risk is high and the emotions need to be managed carefully, such as in driving [in Indian traffic conditions], using the approach of throwing someone in the deep of the swimming pool won’t work.
The goal centric or project centric approach won’t be advisable. A simulated environment to allow for drill and practice would be more appropriate.
More about emotional and transactional learning in the days to come….
