Coming of age…maturity

Had been reading a book given to me as Christmas gift [thanks, Charles] ‘Another Long Hot Soak Book 3’ – series by Guidepost for Living…

It is a compilation of 50 stories. On page 175 is ‘I’ll Never Forget’ by Calvin Fudge.

Here are the quotes that so beautifully sum up maturity [for men and women, though the author referred to man]:

  • Impatience is a boy. Looking beyond tomorrow is a man.
  • A boy falls in love lots of times. A man only once.
  • When you start thinking more of others than yourself, then you are a man

‘…the highest reward a man gets for his toil is not what he gets in money, but what it makes him. And telling the truth is character, and character is more important than that cheque in your pocket.’
