Each takes turn…

Once it was USA / UK who bought land, companies etc around the world [pre-80s], then Japan did it when US was not doing too well [in the 80s / early 90s] , now China, India and some SE Asian nations are doing it.

I guess that is the game of economics. Yet it also smells of conspiracy theory. It is possible that the countries are in cahoots with each other to help each other out whenever the need arises, so that the world will not collapse together in one heap. Monopoly game?

Of course one must have buying power. The world is indeed getting to be borderless!
