Tree is a good analogy for corporate learning….

I have been admiring the many tree structures in Singapore – each tree having its own unique branching. It is just so fascinating to explore the variety of those amazing structures.

The leaves need sunlight and they will do whatever is necessary to maximise their absorption of the sunlight. The other parts of the tree know that if the leaves do not get the sunlight, the entire tree will suffer and die.

So it is with the frontliners and the customers. The frontline staff will do whatever it is necessary to maximise the customers’ satisfaction, as leaves towards sunlight.

The rest of the organisation will likewise, be the branches, the stems, the roots, together support the leaves to get the ‘maximum sunlight’.

The amazing structure of the branches is as a result of helping the leaves to get the sunlight. The strength of the trunk is to support the branches. The roots are to maximise intake of nutrients and water, even in unfavourable conditions.

Together the entire tree develops different coping strategies so that it has the highest chance of survival.

It has to be holistic and the entire tree as one entity. So it is with the life of an organisation.

Quotations:

God starts us out on a life course to fulfill a certain purpose and then, only when we are ready, He gives us course corrections. Like a good river pilot, He steers us away from troubled waters, and like a good coach, He never puts us in the game until we are ready. The journey is never boring.

REMEMBER THIS ABOUT YOU...

Read this out loud to yourself, and mean it!!

I am precious, valuable, lovable and capable.
The world will not be the same without me.
I make a difference in this world, in the community I live in.
I can make another person smile.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I sing for I am loved by a great God whose nature is to give  love, mercy and grace.

  [In Hindi]
  Mai amulya hoon.
Yeh duniya mayray bina wahi nahin rahegi.
Mayray hone say is duniya mein kuch badlav hai.
Mujh se doosre ke chahre pay muskuraahat aati hai.
Mujhe bhayankar se banaya gaya hai.
Mujhe gaana hai ki ek mahaan; ishwhar mujhe pyaar karte.
Hain aur mayray prati daya dikhaate hain.
