Connected to the spirit of excellence [earlier blog], is the spirit to serve / to bless / to let others have a good experience…be it:
- communication
- expectation management
- results / outcomes
- sense of being taken care of
- reaching out to those who need it
When in business, we who are in Learning Design, must be fiercely guarding the interest of the learner. When we are self-focused, due to:
- fears / insecurity
- resentment / anger
- over-ambition
- task mindedness
- refusal to see past one’s failure
- being all absorbed with one’s own feelings
- myopic view of only one’s own gain
- being contentious
- self importance
- ego
….we cannot really serve or excel in the service sector and Learning Design is all about service.
