It does not take much to figure out that jumping down from any heights [mountain, tall building or bridge] can be fatal. Gravity will exert its force, whether we like it or not.
Similarly, if we stop eating / drinking, the equilibrium in our body gets messed up and over a sustained period of time, the body’s systems will shut down and death will exert its force, whether we like it or not.
When the rain stops coming, entire communities suffer. Mess with the self-regulating mechanisms in biosphere – ecological, renewal systems – the climate worldwide changes and more, resulting in threats to the survival of certain species. Extinction of species will exert its force, whether we like it or not.
I suppose the actions against nature cannot be argued as right or wrong. Why? Defence lawyers, who could and surely would exonerate any villain and position them as good citizens, will gladly for a fee argue why it is not wrong to interfere with nature and that it is actually for the good of mankind.
Instead I choose to examine the acts against the law of nature as action / consequence or cause / effect.
There is also the question of choice…
If I choose to jump, ignoring the law of gravity, that is my choice ie pro-choice.
If I choose to stop eating [anorexia], that is my choice ie pro-choice.
We are a society that embraces pro-choice:
- perfectionist / over-achiever choosing not to rest
- diabetic patient choosing not to diet
- obese person choosing not to exercise
- ill disciplined person choosing not to use wisdom
- neurotic person choosing to not commit to anything, out of fear
- the dishonest choosing not to pay
- delinquent child choosing not to attend school
- promiscuous person choosing to follow the lust of the flesh
- those who practise same-sex lifestyle choosing to ignore the biological forms and functions
It is all about choice!
Whether we see it from creation perspective or evolution perspective, nature is amazingly exact in its design for function. The body is designed for pro-creation, whether we like it or not.
The seed, in the fruit of the plant kingdom or in the semen of the animal kingdom, is life. Seeds are needed, even if they stay dormant in the ‘ground’ for a period of time, in order for the biosphere to flourish.
Seed must pass through the life-giving process / channels / canals to produce offspring.
At the subsistence level, the poor, needy and illiterate are focused on the lower level of Maslow’s hierarchy. They are happy to reach out for the low hanging fruits.
Those who pushing certain political / ideological agendas, and who are pursuing ‘pro-choice’ lifestyles are those who are focused on the higher level of Maslow’s hierarchy.
These are usually with earning power, who are educated and well heeled and who have tried a multitude of choices in life and are insatiable, will reach for the higher hanging forbidden fruit.
So they will exert their force against nature, whether we like it or not.
However, I believe there has been no record of men’s successful attempts to go against nature, without a huge loss in energy and unnecessary pain / heartbreaks. Is that really breakthrough and advancement of mankind, or the eventual destruction of mankind…
your choice.
[If you have had enough to eat, honey doesn't taste good, but if you are really hungry, you will eat anything; or A person who is full refuses honey, but even bitter food tastes sweet to the hungry; or When you are full, not even honey tastes good, but when you are hungry, even something bitter tastes sweet. Proverbs 27:7]
