The ‘trend’ is clear…. every financial [others too] bungle points to the cry for honesty and integrity. Can laws make it happen? Morals are inside the constitution of a human being, at least they are supposed to be.
Can we expect laws to cause morals to increase? Seriously, laws have been around since the beginning of human history. I am reminded of what Christ said, in summary: the law is there to show us where we have gone wrong ie set a common standard for entire citizenry to observe.
Those who shoot down faith in the public spaces refuse to see the cause and effect of removing God from schools and from those in public service, who are bound by vow to serve the country. Every nation faces this eventuality.
Take God out, take morals out, and the vacuum is wide open for godlessness to set in. What is godlessness? For me, it is when people behave and think they are god. That is, they can do what they want. Everything is relative and there are no absolutes. There is no God to hold them accountable and the busy main street population is just too ‘slave-like’ in their daily routine to even notice.
Banks, across the world, financial markets, individual investors, the ponzi schemes, the slew of get rich quick schemes….
They are started by and sustained by greed. Well only for so long…. then the God that the godless denied, brings the things done in darkness to the light.
Now, people who upholds and cherishes values such as honesty, integrity, reliability, fear of God and allows God’s values to shape his / her values, is suddenly a rare and somewhat prized species.
God has the last laugh, as always.
