Time ….

We need time to reflect, time to catch up with friends, time to visit places, and time to develop all of Stephen Covey’s 7 habits.

Yet, with every gadget / gizmo under the sun which is supposed to make our lives so much more convenient and efficient and supposedly allow us to have more time, we are not having the time we need.

As a result we do not regularly reflect on lessons learnt, smell the roses to relax, sit and watch sunset, stare into nothing, visit with old friends to treasure and deepen the bonds, listen to our children with undivided attention to know what they are trying to say, much less talk to God.

There is really no excuse, we need to let go of something.

Travelling on the bus / train is a good time to reflect but I notice many use the time to play games on the mobile, talk to someone of the phone, sleep, or watch a movie on portable DVD players etc.

Especially the younger generation who is so used to multi-tasking, will they be comfortable being still and do nothing, and simply meditate? Will they hear God’s voice or see God’s message in all the rush?

The push-a-button generation, sadly, will soon lose the ability to do nothing [discounting sleep], if they have not already lost it.

I may be altogether wrong in this conclusion, pardon me if I am too critical; Learning, it seems, has become mercenary. I only learn what I need to, when I want to, and only enough to accomplish a certain gain.

Quotations:

God starts us out on a life course to fulfill a certain purpose and then, only when we are ready, He gives us course corrections. Like a good river pilot, He steers us away from troubled waters, and like a good coach, He never puts us in the game until we are ready. The journey is never boring.

REMEMBER THIS ABOUT YOU...

Read this out loud to yourself, and mean it!!

I am precious, valuable, lovable and capable.
The world will not be the same without me.
I make a difference in this world, in the community I live in.
I can make another person smile.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I sing for I am loved by a great God whose nature is to give  love, mercy and grace.

  [In Hindi]
  Mai amulya hoon.
Yeh duniya mayray bina wahi nahin rahegi.
Mayray hone say is duniya mein kuch badlav hai.
Mujh se doosre ke chahre pay muskuraahat aati hai.
Mujhe bhayankar se banaya gaya hai.
Mujhe gaana hai ki ek mahaan; ishwhar mujhe pyaar karte.
Hain aur mayray prati daya dikhaate hain.
